Masingini Forest Reserves is one of the reserved natural Forest in Zanzibar, located less than 10km from Stone Town of Zanzibar ,
Masingini Forest sits on the highest point of the island and is a symbol of conservation. The world rare species red colobus monkeys are also found in this reserved Forest. The forest serves as the main water catchment for Old stone Town of Zanzibar and other surrounding communities. However, in the recent past the forest has faced increased degradation due to encroachment, illegal felling of trees and clear cutting. As a result, a number of springs have dried up and flows in others have become intermittent, leading to a decreased supply of freshwater to the local communities.

The Slaves Historical & Slave Caves-At Mangapwani 3hrs
Slave Chambers that built around 1880 from the caves and connected to the seaside 2kms away, the area is surrounded by varieties of indigenous trees such as Breadfruit, Rambotans and scent shrubs. It was an important transit point for the captured slaves to be sold to the outside world at the time of the abolishment of slavery in 1873 especial in the middle East .Where contract was done thats why there is no much Africast in the middle East. Between 1880-1905, the chamber was being used as a place of concealment of the human cargo pending their disposal. A utilized as the hideout by the Arabs for their human cargo ready for shipment.
The four hour guided tour begins and ends at your Resort. Mangapwani (“Arab Shore”) lies in a district where many Arabs used to live before the blood revolution which was carried by majority of people in Zanzibar in 1964. A permit is required at the Marine park but worth it,it serves two purpose,conservation and good Zanzibar snorkeling Leven Bank- north of RasNungwi is the best dive spot on high slack tide.Boat dives are also available here but no snorkeling Mnemba Island-south-east of Nungwi high tide current offers very good diving and okay for snorkeling Bawe Island near Stone Town, divers have to overcome high current tide but the best dives in the east of the island Nyange-south west offers excellent marine life with stone fish, scorpion fish
Pwaku, murogo and mwambaukombe-south of Stone Town where big parrot fish and jelly fish can be seen. Hungasekina,Pembe-excellent subject to current. Intresting fish like large spinney lobster,crocodilefish,scorpionfish,duskybatfish,eagle rays and barracuda can be seen.Mbwangawa, chakatuni Ametatu Kitchafi, Haji-north east of island well known for good ranges of reefs suitable for all levels of diving. The highlight or the treasure of snorkeling in Zanzibar is to spot Hippocampus the sea horse,a very hard to find species sometimes transparent because it changes color. It has armoured plates all over their body and belong to Syngnathide family which include pipefish. They are notably the only species in which the males get pregnant while the females produce eggs.The males carry the eggs for 40-50 days.
Although it is claimed the salty waters of the Indian Ocean corrodes every skeleton of a ship or a plane at an amazing speed, there is hope in the form of a the Great Northern sunk in 1900.The hull is broken in two pieces and the shape is intact It has become part of reef of Stone Town and can be enjoyed. The other search is for a small plane that crashed in 2004 in the channel between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. Some independent divers are still looking for the whereckage.

Swim & Snorkling With Zanzibar Dolphin Safari (Half Day)
This half day sea adventure excursion guided safari begins at when you are picked up from the hotel /Resort or from any entry points in Zanzibar and have road transfer to the Kizimkazi fishing village about 45 kilometers away from Stone town. You will be given briefing on the day excursion before to board the dhows (Local boat) and set off in search of the dolphins you will swim with them but if weather permit they always found and come very closely.
The species frequently found at bay are of spinner and bottlenose dolphins types. You will swim with dolphins if they stay close by to the boat (Not guaranteed), but is unlikely to be able to touch the dolphins as they are of course wild animals. You will then go on to one of the selected snorkeling locations. Here you will snorkel while accompanied by a snorkeling Master to show points of interest and to assist with beginners. Snorkeling equipments will be provided on hire throughout . You will then get back to the Village for very delicious sea food lunch or ride the boat to one of the sand bank for delicious Sea food lunch. Lunch is a traditional Zanzibarians meal and typically includes a selection of barbecued fish, rice, lentils and fish curry. Pemba Flying Fox, are Bats of the genus Pteropus, known as the Pemba Flying Fox are the largest bats in the world. They are commonly known as the Fruit Bats or Flying Foxes among other numerous colloquial names. They live in the tropics and subtropics of Asia (including the Indian subcontinent), Australia, Indonesia, islands off East Africa(but not the mainland Africa), and a number of remote oceanic islands in both the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
